Knock, knock. Who’s there? Lettuce. Lettuce who?
Reveal punchline
Lettuce in. It is cold out here!
Knock-knock · You had us at “who’s there?”
Two voices, one familiar rhythm, and a punchline politely waiting to be let in.
A knock-knock joke is a tiny scene for two people. One person brings the visitor, the other asks the questions, and the last line turns the name into a phrase. It is a familiar pattern with plenty of room for a ridiculous voice or an overdramatic pause.
The cards include both parts so you can practice the rhythm first. When telling one together, stop after “Knock, knock” and let the other person answer. Do the same with the visitor’s name. The punchline works better when the listener gets to complete their part instead of hearing the entire exchange in one breath.
